Description: California natives Lawrence Lasker and Walter Parkes wrote the screenplay for WarGames, a 1983 thriller that tapped into America's cold war fears and was a box office hit. Lasker and Parkes earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay and went on to successful careers in producing and writing. Credits they share include Awakenings (1990) and Sneakers (1992). Here they discuss the making of their breakthrough film and its impact in Hollywood.
